Social Inclusion
A side-by-side Social Inclusion program consists of hosting activities at the Center and visiting general education schools to foster social opportunities for students. Within Social Inclusion, ACCEL Ajyal Center has been accredited by Best Buddies International (BBi) and is excited to be introducing BBi programs in the Kingdom. BBi is a global volunteer movement with more than 50 member countries.
Inclusive Education and Transition Services
The structured program with curricular focus on social engagement and soft skills such as flexibility, problem-solving, accepting feedback, and building a sense of responsibility and confidence lay the solid foundation for a successful transition following high school.
Educational Inclusion
One of our primary purposes is to provide students with the best possible opportunities to learn both within our campus and within other environments. To achieve this, we’ve adopted an inclusive model of practice to promote equity in education by providing our students with learning opportunities with their typically developing peers when appropriate.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Education, we encourage partnership with general education schools within the Kingdom to optimize our students’ transition to more inclusive environments following necessary processes and procedures.
Vocational Program
This program incorporates transitional education planning into each Individualized Education Program (IEP) to help students aged 14 to 18 identify career and life goals and work to achieve them. These skills are taught across multiple settings, not just the classroom. We offer and practice:
- Service-learning
- Job skills training
- Social and communication development
- Work experience
- Resume development
- Supported employment
- Independent living skills
- Personal finances
- Career exploration
- Executive functioning (e.g., organizing, prioritizing, time management, regulating emotions)

Pre-Vocational Program
This program helps students aged 12 and older prepare for future employment. These job readiness skills help students focus on the tasks at hand, use their time to their benefit, interact with fellow students or faculty and follow directions. Pre-vocational skills include:
- Time management
- Critical Thinking
- Personal hygiene and appearance
- Problem solving
- Responsibility and integrity
- Attitude and demeanor
Students learn to sort and package, place materials in sequence to be assembled and eventually, a time component is introduced so that they may become more productive and increase their endurance. The goal is to have our students prepared to access and take full advantage of our vocational curriculum, internships, and community placement.

Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapists support students’ academic achievement, play and leisure, social participation, and self-care skills (ADLs or Activities of Daily Living) by promoting occupation and participation within the school environment. Occupational therapy addresses the physical, cognitive, psychosocial, and sensory components of performance, including activity analysis and environmental modification to reduce participation barriers
Physical Therapy
Physical therapists design interventions to enable the student to travel throughout the school environment, participate in classroom activities; maintain and change positions in the classroom, and manage stairs, restrooms, and the cafeteria.
Behavior Consultation Service
The behavioral analysts (BCBA-D, BCBA, QBA) and Behavior Intervention Coordinators (RBT/ABAT) support the students in increasing their ability to utilize more acceptance behaviors and to express more effective and accepting behaviors. The behavior department utilizes multiple positive interventions to teach the students how to communicate their needs and manage the environment to reduce triggers for challenging behaviors and personal stressors so that target behaviors are reduced, and positive behaviors are learned and maintained. The behavior department also includes crisis management services to reduce severe challenging behaviors.
