This therapy focuses on helping young children, especially those with autism, develop skills in thinking, speaking, socializing, and managing daily activities. It addresses challenging behaviors such as aggression or running away, aiming to help children catch up to their peers in development. Early intervention plays a key role in accelerating skill development.
Key Areas Addressed in Comprehensive ABA:
- Understanding their environment
- Imitating actions
- Communicating effectively
- Managing everyday tasks and social interactions
Focused ABA Therapy (Ages 3.5 and older):
This therapy targets specific behaviors and skills, helping children with communication, self-care, and social skills. It is particularly beneficial for children who need support in becoming more independent, focusing on safety, self-care, and managing challenging behaviors.
Key Areas Addressed in Focused ABA:
- Developing safety skills and following instructions
- Improving communication and self-care (e.g., feeding, toileting)
- Addressing challenging behaviors such as aggression or self-harm to ensure safety and well-being.
By focusing on these crucial skills, the Bista Program helps children lead safer, more independent lives.
